Carl Luttikhuis practices in the areas of Business Law, including Corporate Law, Bankruptcy Law and restructuring of businesses. His international practice includes assisting foreign investors with the set up of operations in the Netherlands, including tax and liability optimization. His clients include international banking organizations as well as government entities with international legal issues.
Carl Luttikhuis is currently acting as Dean of the Regional Bar Association (County Overijssel). As such, he is a regulator within the meaning of the Act on Advocates on the active Attorneys in Overijssel.
He is regularly appointed as a bankruptcy trustee by the court of The Dutch County Overijssel. He specializes in the area of duty of care of bans and bankruptcy fraud. He assists corporations through and after bankruptcy and guides them back to sustainability.
Carl Luttikhuis studied law at the University of Utrecht, NL. Initially, he worked as a lawyer at the Dutch Ministry of the Interior in The Hague. He assisted the Ministry with the interfacing with the European Union and the drafting of legislative proposals.
He was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rabobank Twente-East from 2003 to 2015, and a Member Rabobank Board Circuit East from 2012 to 2015. He also acted as President and Steering Committee of Galexy, and International Association of Law Firms from 2010 to 2014.
He was Treasurer of the “Foundation Twentse Desk” from 2009 till 2016. Furthermore he was Acting Dean of the Bar Association of the District of Almelo in 2011 and 2012 and of the Regional Bar Association from 2015 till 2017. Above all he was Dean of the Regional Bar Association from 2017 till 2022.
